TIMBo: Peer Support Group + Yoga
To be human is to have experienced some type of loss, challenge, illness or trauma as a child or as an adult. Sometimes these experiences are so powerful and overwhelming that our nervous systems get stuck in “overdrive”. As a result, we can end up living in a constant state of anxiety, fear, and hyper-vigilance or a state of numbness, depression, and feelings of hopelessness. The good news is, you can learn to shift your nervous system out of overdrive. Imagine the possibilities…
What iF you could feeL
less overwhelmed by the challenges in your life?
less controlled by anxious thoughts and feelings?
less guilt and shame about a painful past?
What if you could be
more confident and at ease in your own skin?
more in control of your emotional responses?
more compassionate with yourself and others?
TIMBo can help
TIMBo is a 10-week, research-backed program designed specifically to help women cope with chronic anxiety, depression and PTSD. TIMBo focuses on the present — not past trauma — and how an overactive nervous system impacts our current relationships and every day life.
From the very first session, TIMBo gives you simple tools to connect with your body and calm your nervous system. Tools you can use anywhere, anytime to help you navigate life with greater ease.
You’ll receive a workbook to use during each session and explore topics such as compassion, fear, confidence, shame, awareness and perspective. You’ll learn to connect with where these emotions are felt and where they manifest in your body. Using breathing techniques and simple yoga poses you’ll build better mind-body awareness and connection, release unconscious holding patterns and begin to feel more at ease in your body. The yoga poses are accessible to all ability levels, so no previous yoga experience is needed.
Participating in TIMBo has been proven to decrease the symptoms of depression, anxiety and PTSD and increase rates of self-compassion. You can attend the TIMBo program multiple times as it always applies to your current emotional, physiological, and environmental state; there is always room to cultivate more self compassion.
