Your TIMBo group is a safe, confidential time and space to explore the ways in which your mind and body process things like fear, guilt, shame, resentment, compassion, confidence and faith. All TIMBo asks of you is to show up with an open mind, a willingness to accept yourself each moment, and the courage to cultivate awareness without judgment toward how you're feeling. What you choose to share is ENTIRELY and ALWAYS up to you.
I've never done yoga before and I have a bad back. Will I be able to do the yoga?
Yes! The TIMBo yoga sequences are very gentle and can be easily modified for all abilities. The simple relaxing movements are designed to help you notice how your body is feeling. You'll learn to recognize sensations in your body and to let them be, just as they are. Your yoga practice will help you develop the skills to take time between your reactions and your responses.
I've tried meditating before and I ended up feeling even more anxious. My mind is just too busy. What's TIMBo's meditation like?
Just sitting still with your own thoughts can be difficult. Especially if you're under a lot of stress or have experienced trauma. Each TIMBo session ends with a short and relaxing guided meditation. You'll be gently led to create peaceful and healing imagery in your mind's eye. The goal is to give you a taste of how sweet "peacefulness" can be.
