Meet the Facilitators

Mary Beth and Tara met in yoga teacher training in 2014 and became fast friends as they discovered how much they had in common, including the desire to help trauma survivors find a path toward healing.

Coming from similar backgrounds, they connected easily. But it was through the sharing of their unique life challenges in a mutually supportive and empathetic way that they started to really understand the powerful healing benefits of trust and empathy among women. TIMBo’s peer support group approach was the perfect vehicle for them to take what they’ve learned and share it with others.

Tara McLinden, RYT200

As a survivor of domestic violence, Tara McLinden was introduced to yoga and meditation as a pathway for healing in 2006. Shortly thereafter, she began working with other victims of domestic violence at the Green Gables Haven shelter in Hastings. While working at Green Gables, yoga became a more integral part of her life which inspired her to share the healing benefits of yoga with other survivors. She began her training with a 200-hour yoga teaching certification in 2015 and expanded her knowledge of trauma and the mind-body connection with a TIMBo facilitation certification in early 2018.
